Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026. What we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.
Scope
This policy explains how [Your full legal name], doing business as Onset Automation handles personal information from visitors, subscribers, and the customers of our subscribers whose details pass through Onset. For our subscribers' customers, we act as a service provider (processor) on the subscriber's behalf.
What we collect
Account details: name, business name, email, phone, billing address. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Carrier registration details, if you ask us to register your business for texting: legal business name, EIN, business address, website and contact details. We store the EIN encrypted, and share these details with our texting provider and the carriers' registry only to file and maintain your registration.
Service data: call recordings and transcripts, message content, contact lists, review requests, content drafts and website material you provide.
Usage data: pages visited, device and browser information, and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use it
To provide and support the services, bill you, keep the platform secure, meet legal obligations (for example opt-out records), and improve the services. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run Onset under contract: hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), payments (Stripe), voice and texting carriers, email delivery, calendar providers you connect (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCloud), and AI model providers used to generate replies and content. We may disclose information when required by law.
Your customers' contact details
When a business uses Onset to ask for reviews, we handle its customers' names, emails and phone numbers for that business, only to send its requests and record opt-outs. We don't sell them, use them for any other business, or use them to train AI models. Anyone can opt out using the link in any request, or by replying STOP to a text.
Connected calendars
If you connect a calendar, we read when you're busy and your calendar names, and add appointments booked through Onset. We don't read the details of your other events. Your calendar login is stored encrypted, and you can disconnect at any time from your dashboard, which deletes it.
Onset's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to show open times and book appointments, never for advertising, and we don't transfer it except as needed to run this feature.
AI processing
Call audio, messages and business details may be processed by AI models to answer calls, summarize them and draft content. We configure providers not to use your data to train their general models where that option is offered.
Retention
We keep account data while you subscribe and for up to 2 years after, unless law requires longer. Call recordings are kept for 90 days unless you choose otherwise. Opt-out records are kept as long as needed to honor them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Email support@onsetautomation.com to make a request; we won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Customers of our subscribers should contact the business they dealt with; we'll help that business respond.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level security so each business can only see its own data. No system is perfectly secure; we'll notify you of a breach as the law requires.
Children
Onset is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16.
