Terms of Service
Effective October 25, 2026. The agreement between your business and Onset when you subscribe.
Who we are
These Terms are an agreement between [Your full legal name], doing business as Onset Automation ("Onset", "we") and the business or person subscribing ("you"). By creating an account or paying for a service, you accept these Terms. If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm you can bind it.
The services
Onset provides software and done-for-you services for small businesses: an AI receptionist, review requests, text and email marketing, content creation and websites. Each service includes the monthly allowances shown on our pricing page and in your dashboard. We may improve or change features, but we won't materially reduce a service you've paid for during the current billing month.
Subscriptions, renewal and billing
Services are sold as monthly subscriptions: $55 per service per month, plus any optional upgrades shown on the pricing page. Prices exclude applicable taxes.
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY EVERY MONTH and your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period until you cancel. We show these terms before you pay, ask for your agreement, and email a confirmation you can keep.
Usage above a plan's allowance (for example receptionist minutes over the plan's 150, 500 or 1,200) is billed at the rates on the pricing page, in arrears. A one-time setup fee of $49 applies once per business when it first needs a phone number: at signup for the AI Receptionist, or on the next invoice when a business asks us to register it for automatic texts. It is shown before it is charged. Monthly carrier registration fees are included in the subscription.
We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
Cancelling
You can cancel online at any time from Billing in your dashboard, without calling us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Your responsibilities
You must give us accurate business information and keep your account secure.
You are responsible for having the legal right and consent to contact the people you upload or message through Onset, including written consent where required for marketing texts, and for honoring opt-outs. You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy and SMS Terms.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you give the AI receptionist (prices, hours, policies), and for reviewing content before you approve it.
Review requests
If you use Review Manager, you agree to ask all of your recent customers, not only the ones you expect to be happy, and not to offer anything of value in exchange for a review. Google's policies and FTC rules apply to you as the business asking.
Requests go out in your business's name, using your mailing address and your review link. You must tell us about canceled appointments we can't see, and you are responsible for having permission to contact the people you add or send to us from your booking software.
You are responsible for replies you approve or post. Only Google can remove a review, and we don't promise that any review will be posted, kept or removed. If you ask us to post replies for you, you authorize us to do that on your Google Business Profile.
Review Manager isn't available for medical, dental or wellness businesses.
AI features
Some services use artificial intelligence. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. The AI receptionist identifies itself as an AI at the start of each call. Do not rely on Onset for emergencies, medical, legal or financial advice to your customers; configure transfers for urgent matters.
Content and ownership
You own your business data and the content we create for you once paid for. You give us a limited license to use your data and materials only to provide and improve the services.
Material created entirely by AI may not be protected by copyright in the United States. We don't promise exclusive rights in AI-generated material beyond what the law allows.
We own the Onset software, templates and platform.
Third-party services
Onset works with providers such as Stripe (payments), telephone and texting carriers, email providers and Google. Their availability and rules (for example carrier filtering or Google review policies) are outside our control.
Suspension
We may suspend a service if payment fails after reminders, if you breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, or if a carrier or provider requires it. We'll tell you why and how to fix it where we lawfully can.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
The services are provided "as is". We don't guarantee a number of calls, bookings, reviews or sales.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You'll defend and indemnify Onset against claims arising from messages you send or content you approve through Onset, including claims under the TCPA, CAN-SPAM or state messaging laws, except where caused by our breach.
General
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your state], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We may update these Terms with 30 days' notice for material changes. Contact: support@onsetautomation.com, [Business mailing address, City, State ZIP].
